Places to go and things to do in Findhorn

Findhorn has some of the most impressive and picturesque sandy beaches in Scotland and visitors to Moray should make it top of their list of things to do and see.

 

For those of you seeking adventure on your holiday Findhorn and the surrounding area has a wide range of activities to offer such as white water rafting on the River Findhorn (www.aceadventures.co.uk) or  handgliding (www.highglide.co.uk) as well as sailing (www.rfy.net/).

 

Moray also offers great golfing and fishing opportunities as there are a number of local golf courses within the local area including Castle Stuart, Nairn, Moray, Elgin, Hopeman & Kinloss.


There is also guided fishing and tuition available on the River Findhorn (www.speycaster.net/).

 

Findhorn Foundation Community and Ecovillage welcomes visitors and runs experiential workshops and events. Also on site are the Blue angel café, which is open, all year and The Phoenix shop which specialises in local organic and ethical produce.

 

There is also the opportunity to visit Moray Art Centre which has several art exhibitions open to the public as well as offering art related courses for all ages and levels of experience (www.morayartcentre.org/).

 

Findhorn is also very close to several distilleries featured on the malt whiskey trail (www.maltwhiskeytrail.com).

 

Elgin is just a 20-minute drive away with its historical Cathedral, Leisure centre and cinema there is plenty to keep you entertained.

 

Inverness is within 45 minutes driving distance from Findhorn and Aviemore within 60 minutes.
